As the managing director of Stubbs Parkin, Katharine’s alternative role name could be: She who knows the answers, no matter how trivial the question. She brings a big picture perspective to the table, and as a business owner first, accountant second, she’s always prepared to share her experience and answer the really tough questions. Though the business is her baby, outside of work, you’ll find her taxi-driving her children or getting stuck into a great tv series.

David is semi-retired now so is often away in sunnier climates in the spring and autumn months, but as a shareholder and active director, he still gets involved to help Katharine run the company, and to help with clients issues.

As Practice Manager at Stubbs Parkin, Marisa is known as the office morale booster. When she’s not picking up spirits, she’s getting fees out, overseeing organisational tasks for the company and acting as Client Manager for a selection of SMEs and sole traders. It’s no surprise clients comment on how approachable Marisa is, because she’s a social person who loves to spend time with people. Especially if socialising involves football.

As a Client Manager, Phil does a lot of preparing. He’s mostly preparing accounts for Stubbs Parkin, and getting stuck into management accounts (the part of his job he enjoys the most). Outside of working hours, he’s doing a different kind of preparing as cooking is a major passion and part of his life. As you can imagine, his biggest hobby is seeking out new restaurants. A foodie through and through.

Having been with Stubbs Parkin for many years, Daniel loves being a part of a trusted team, who value flexibility and make the workplace a great environment to be in. As a Client Manager, his day to day is spent taking care of his clients and preparing accounts and forecasts to help them grow their business. At home, his day to day revolves around his kids, and football – in that order.

Helen describes her role at Stubbs as a “little bit of everything”. Helen manages our bookkeeping team and works with a lot of our clients who we provide with a fully managed bookkeeping solution. She’s most in her element when talking to clients, but you’ll also find her head down in bookkeeping, VAT returns, CIS, accounts prep, corporation tax returns, and service charge accounts. A true all-rounder, it’s no wonder her clients regularly comment on how helpful she is. When she’s not busy with work, you’ll most likely find her running or baking up something sweet in the kitchen.

Anna is the go-to person on the Stubbs Parkin team for all things auditing. Though her work involves all the things a Client Manager does, preparing accounts and tax returns, she’s has a skill for audits and provides audit advice to the team. Having previously spent many years in a bigger firm, Anna loves the family feel of Stubbs Parkin firm. This makes total sense when you know her biggest passion in life is her two boys.

Theresa is Stubbs Parkin’s go-to for audit work. It’s her best skill, the part of her role as Client Adviser that she loves the most, and the thing she’d do more of if she could! Having worked for large firms before joining the team at Stubbs Parkin, she loves the small family feel of the firm and the opportunity to provide a personal service. Family and friends are her everything, and she’s most happy when she has time to socialise.

Becky is one of Stubbs Parkin’s team of Client Assistants. Day to day, you’ll find her producing accounts for SMEs and sole traders, or training clients on Xero. Software training is the part of her job she most enjoys, and a forward thinking approach to technology is what she loves most about Stubbs Parkin. Family is the thing Becky is most passionate about in her personal life, but putting her feet up with a glass of prosecco is a hard second.

Being Senior Tax Advisor at Stubbs Parkin means Clare gets involved with all aspects of clients’ personal tax affairs, including liaising with HMRC and preparing and submitting tax returns. As Stubbs Parkin’s longest serving employee, Clare brings a wealth of experience to her work, making her the go-to for general advice on all topics. That being said, what she loves most about her job is that “no two days are the same”. When she’s not acting as resident guru, you’ll find her with her family and friends or reading a Bill Bryson book. Maybe even on a cruise!

Clients often comment on Dave’s friendly and approachable attitude – and he’s the person you want in your corner during a high pressure period. When he’s not spending time assisting the Tax Advisors, he’s working hard behind the scenes to ensure tax return deadlines are met. When the pressure is off, you’ll find Dave with his family and friends, preferably watching football.

As one of Stubbs Parkin’s Bookkeepers, it goes without saying Claire loves Xero. With her work involving bookkeeping, VAT Returns and payroll, Claire is definitely a deadline driven person. She takes the love of a challenge home with her, having recently bought a Peleton. Though outside of work, you’ll mostly find her with family (including her lovely Lurcher, Jasper).

As Stubbs Parkin’s Payroll Manager, Michelle is all about meeting deadlines and adapting to change. Michelle oversees all the elements of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll for clients, from set up to pensions, and loves working within a team that values support and flexibility. When she’s not doing all things payroll, Michelle loves exploring new places and having adventures with her kids.

Alex is the go-to guy for all things technical, and puts his know-how to good use by talking to clients through their Xero questions. Though his role covers many areas from processing accounts to bookkeeping, he confesses he most enjoys a nice, simple VAT return. In line with keeping it simple, Alex’s number one hobby is formula one, and his biggest passion in life? You guessed it: formula one.

Gill is Stubbs Parkin’s champion for all things admin. A planner by nature, she looks after our clients by kicking off their onboarding experience, sending out accounts and tax return packages and monitoring payments. As the friendly face at reception, Gill supports the team internally by managing expenses, maintaining databases and dabbling in marketing. She takes a break from all the organising at home by burying herself in a good book.

Outside of work, Linda loves to read and get lost in a puzzle. She brings her problem solving initiative to the workplace too, as the first point of contact for our clients on the phone who regularly comment on her friendly nature. Whether it’s a question that needs answering or a secretarial task that needs sorting, Linda is on it – and she wouldn’t change her role for anything.

Now that many of our clients pay by direct debit, Barry’s job keeps getting easier! But if you do need a reminder for an invoice, Barry’s the one who will send that to you and you can email him if you have any queries over invoices or payments.
